UK casino review desk · est. 2026

Two British casino brands. Every licence number printed and linked.

We read the Gambling Commission public register so you do not have to. Each review names the company that actually holds the licence, the account number, the licence reference, and what that means for your money.

The shortlist

Both operators, side by side

Ranked on a fixed six-category rubric. Licensing is a gate, not a score — if a brand is not on the GB register, it is not on this website at all.

talkSPORT BET

Sports-desk energy, wrapped around a full casino lobby

The strongest all-rounder of the two we cover. A broadcast brand welded onto BV Gaming infrastructure, which means the lobby, the cashier and the account tooling are all inherited from a licensee that has been running remote casino in Britain for years.

Hippozino

A long-running ProgressPlay casino with an unusually deep lobby

Casino-first rather than sportsbook-first, and it shows. Hippozino runs on ProgressPlay Limited's licence, an operator that has held a remote casino licence in Britain since 2014, and the lobby is broader than the brand's modest presentation suggests.

Method

What gets checked before a word is written

01

The register entry, first

Before anything else we pull the operator's page on the Gambling Commission public register: the licensee company, the account number, the licence reference, the activities it covers and whether the brand's domain is listed. That entry is linked on every review so you can repeat the check in ten seconds.

02

The cashier, in practice

Deposit routes, whether credit cards are correctly refused, when identity verification is triggered, and how long a debit card payout genuinely takes once an account is verified. Withdrawal friction is the single most common complaint in this market, so it carries real weight in the score.

03

Lobby depth

How many suppliers feed the catalogue, whether search and filtering survive a phone screen, and how quickly live tables load.

04

Support that answers

Live chat staffing hours, whether a human arrives before a bot loop, and how a complaint escalates to an ADR provider.

05

Safer gambling tooling

Deposit limits, loss limits, reality checks, time-outs, self-exclusion and GAMSTOP registration — found and used, not just claimed.

06

What we will not do

We do not review operators that are absent from the GB register. We do not publish reader submissions, comments or ratings widgets of any kind. We do not let a commercial arrangement move a score, and we do not quote a bonus without reading its wagering requirement in full. Where an operator pays us, we say so on the page and on the Disclosure page.

Check it yourself

Verifying any British operator in four steps

STEP 01

Find the footer

Every GB-licensed operator must print its licensee name and licence number in the website footer. If it is missing, stop there.

STEP 02

Open the register

Search that company name on the Gambling Commission public register. It is free and needs no account.

STEP 03

Match the domain

Check the domain you are on appears under the operator's registered or white label domains list.

STEP 04

Confirm status

The licence must read Active, and it must cover the activity you intend to use — casino, bingo or betting.

FAQ

The questions we are asked most

Are the brands you review actually licensed in Great Britain?

Both are. We print the licensee company name, the account number and the full licence number on every review, and each one links straight to the operator's entry on the Gambling Commission public register so you can confirm it yourself in about ten seconds. If a brand cannot be found on that register, it does not appear here.

What does "white label" mean and should it worry me?

It means the consumer brand you see is a front end operated under somebody else's licence. talkSPORT BET runs under BV Gaming Limited; Hippozino runs under ProgressPlay Limited. It is not a warning sign — it is an extremely common British arrangement — but it does change who you are contracting with, who holds your balance and who handles a complaint. That is why we name the licensee first and the brand second.

How do you make money?

Some outbound links to operators are affiliate links. If you open an account through one, the operator may pay us a commission. You never pay more, and the commercial arrangement has no bearing on scoring — the scores are set before any link is placed. Our full funding model is on the Disclosure page.

How are the scores calculated?

Six weighted categories: lobby depth, cashier speed, live tables, mobile build, customer support and safer gambling tooling. Each is scored out of ten against a fixed rubric, then averaged. Licensing is a gate rather than a category — an unlicensed operator is not scored low, it is simply not covered.

Can I gamble in the UK if I am under 18?

No. The legal minimum age for all gambling in Great Britain is 18, and licensed operators must verify age before you can deposit or stake. This website is intended for adults aged 18 and over only.
